The TORWAVE system is a scalable microwave processing technology with potential applications across multiple industries. By increasing the reactor size and shifting to a higher frequency ISM band, it can support commercial-scale operations, such as a 100kW system with a 1000mm reactor capable of processing over 1 tonne per hour. With optimized components and materials, it can reliably operate at 350–1000°C.

TorWave leverages microwave energy’s unique advantages, including volumetric and selective heating, to enhance food production by improving texture and flavor while reducing harmful byproducts. It enables innovative processing techniques such as controlled roasting of, for example coffee or cocoa beans, bloating, and oil-free frying for healthier food products.

Beyond food, the technology has potential in mineral processing, fine chemicals, rare earth recovery, catalyst regeneration, and specialized drying and recycling.
