In the run up to our year end in February, we took an order for a TORWAVE dryer for a mineral application that perfectly illustrates the abilities of the TORWAVE industrial microwave processing system with combined conventional (convection) and microwave heat sources.
The TORWAVE can dry particulates more efficiently, saving energy. Water in the centre of the particulates is driven to the surface by the microwaves, from where it is evaporated by the application of heat. This avoids overheating of the surface of the particulate that would otherwise be the result of trying to dry to the same moisture content, using purely convection heat sources to penetrate to the centre of any particulate.
